  India is a vibrant of landscapes, magnificent historic sites and royal cities, golden beaches, misty mountain retreats, colorful people, rich cultures and festivities. Volunteering in India is itself a wonderful excursion. India is an exceptional for tourists because it is a wonderland which has always been a prime travel destination for those who are charmed by its exotic, spellbinding and ancient civilization representing a geographical amalgamation of various features with its lofty mountain ranges, lush greenery, beaches, valleys, beautiful lakes, royal forts, temples, tropical rainforests, fertile plains, dry plateaus, coastal areas, etc. That is why it is said that if you have visited the world outside India then you have seen the half world and if you have visited only the India, you have seen the whole world! India is an amazing and awesome country to experience. Volunteering Activity offers diverse programs in India dedicated to improving education and health in its rural communities. As a volunteer you will not only perceive divergent cultures and help deprived people but also understand the world in a different way. This is truly a meaningful experience you will have.  Our volunteers have a variety of projects to choose from, depending on their skills and interests.
     
  1. Street Children Project in Delhi and Jaipur:
     
 

Volunteers in this program will work as teaching assistants on much appreciated educational projects benefiting tribal communities in Delhi. Our volunteers will work in schools that are overcrowded and underfunded. Having volunteers on hand reduces class sizes and makes classes more controllable. Volunteers generally teach tribal children at the schools from 9am to 2pm. It is helpful but not essential if volunteers understand a little Hindi. Volunteers can join a one-week language and orientation class before they start their program. This helps volunteers better understand the culture and people. Volunteers also can also join a tour of the Golden Triangle—Delhi, Agra and Jaipur—and see the Palace of the Winds, Red Fort and best of all the Taj Mahal.

  2. Volunteer at orphanages in Delhi and Jaipur:
     
  Visit Delhi to experience Indian culture and volunteer to teach orphanage children located in Delhi. Take part in teaching hygiene, sports, art, music, dance and other activities. You may also help with homework, feeding and helping the children with their personal hygiene, cleaning the home and helping with other tasks. Knowledge of a few Hindi words is helpful. Volunteers can join a one-week language and orientation class before they start their program. This helps them better understand the culture and people. Volunteers will also tour the Golden Triangle.

  3. Health Projects in Delhi
     
  Volunteers participating in this program will work as health assistants to nurses and doctors caring for patients, taking their temperature, blood pressure, observing operations, checking patients and helping with administration. Although no previous background is required, volunteers who plan to study medicine or who have already have begun their medical or nursing studies are best suited for this project. Volunteer tasks will depend on capacity and skills. It is helpful if you know a few basic Hindi words. Volunteers can join a one-week language and orientation class before they start their program. Volunteers can also join a tour of the Golden Triangle.

  4. Teaching Children Project in Delhi , Jaipur, Dharamsala and Palampur:
     
  Volunteers participating in this program will teach and take care of underprivileged and poor children of the communities. Teach English and help in homework and other activities like drawing and painting etc. In these projects, our volunteers will work at the home stay along with other volunteers. 3 meals are provided at the home stay. Volunteers can travel to see tea garden and White Mountains during the weekend or also go for trekking. Knowledge of a little bit of Hindi is useful. Volunteers can join a one-week language and orientation class before they start their program, which helps them better understand the culture and people. Volunteers can also take part in a Golden Triangle tour.

  5. Childcare Project in Dharamsala and Palampur:
     
 

Volunteers participating in this program will take care small children. In Dharamsala, volunteers work for taking care of small children, feeding milk and food, changing diapers but in Palampur, volunteers teach pre-school children; teaching alphabets, drawings, taking care of them and playing games, etc. All these children in both places are poor and need help. Volunteers can join a one-week language and orientation class before they start their program, which helps them better understand the culture and people. Volunteers can also take part in a Golden Triangle tour.  Volunteers may get chance to meet Dalai lama in Dharamsala.

  6. Teaching Children Project in Dharamsala and Palampur:
     
 

Volunteers participating in this program will work as teaching assistants on much needed educational projects in rural communities’ schools in Dharamsala and Palampur. Our volunteers will work at the underprivileged schools or Tibetan refugees’ children who are overcrowded and underfunded. They will help make class teach and control, providing valuable assistance on worthwhile educational projects. Volunteers generally teach poor communities’ schools. Volunteers teach from 8am to 1pm. Knowledge of a little bit of Hindi is useful. Volunteers can join a one-week language and orientation class before they start their program, which helps them better understand the culture and people. Volunteers can also take part in a Golden Triangle tour. Volunteers may get chance to meet Dalai lama in Dharamsala.

  7. Teaching Children Project along with Indian Dancing in Jaipur:
 
 

Volunteers participating in this program will live in a host family and go to teach in the morning at the slum school like English and other subjects and in the afternoon go to learn Indian classical dancing located nearby. This project is very useful to the volunteers who want volunteer, travel, and learn dancing. Volunteers teach from 8am to 1pm. Knowledge of a little bit of Hindi is useful. Volunteers can join a one-week language and orientation class before they start their program, which helps them better understand the culture and people. Volunteers can also take part in a Golden Triangle tour.

  8. Teaching Buddhist Monks near Dharamsala
 

 

 

Teach Buddhist monks in the monasteries near Dharamsala Regions. Teaching is always rewarding job but teaching young monks is not just rewarding, here you will learn about Buddhist culture and rituals. Also any help you can give to these Buddhist children who came from Tibet as refugees will be incredibly appreciated and worthwhile as they cannot hire professionals to teach them English. You really will make a difference to their lives. Volunteering generally involves teaching English and other subjects.  This place is located 1 hour in driving distance from Dharamsala. It’s a very nice area close to the mountain ranges all around.

  Golden Triangle Trip (Delhi, Agra and Jaipur: 2 nights/3 days): US$350
     

Day 1: Delhi to Agra: Depart by car to Agra (240 km), about a 4-hour drive. Check-in to the hotel in Agra, visit Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, see the local market. Overnight stay in a hotel economy hotel.

Day 2: Agra to Jaipur: Morning, leave for Jaipur (240 km), about a 4 hour drive. Arrive at Jaipur and check-in to the hotel, Visit Amet Fort, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal and the pink city. Overnight stay in a economy hotel.

Day 3: Jaipur to Delhi: visit the Birla Hindu Temple after breakfast and depart to Delhi and farewell.

     
  Taj Mahal Tour (1 Day): US$100
 

Taj Mahal Tour: Depart by car to Agra after breakfast (230 km), after 4 hour drive, you reach at the world’s wonder and see the Taj Mahal and Agra fort, come back to Delhi again. It’s a day tour.  Breakfast, Lunch, A/C car and guide only included.

Volunteering Activity Programs start all the year round starting all 4 Mondays' of the month. Volunteering Activity' aim is to provide the most affordable volunteer program for college students and anyone on a budget. Our cost includes airport pick up, project drop, local transportation, food and accommodation with emergency service 24/7.
