  1. Volunteer Teaching in Nepal
     
  Teach English or Maths in different parts of Nepal. Teaching is both challenging and rewarding. Nepal is desperately poor and any help you can give will be incredibly appreciated and worthwhile. You really will make a difference in the lives of those in need of education. Volunteering in Nepal will involve teaching children at the government and community schools. Volunteers should be motivated and committed to help. We do not require any previous knowledge or skills to join this program. Volunteers simply help in teaching English or any other subjects and other helps on drawing, painting, singing and dancing would be appreciated.

  2. Volunteer in Orphanages
     
  As a developing country, Nepal has a high percentage of the population living under the poverty line. Volunteers will provide much needed assistance in several orphanages and care homes in Nepal. After being picked up from the airport, volunteers are transferred to the hostel in Kathmandu where you will have an orientation and during this time you will live in a hostel with other many volunteers from different countries, learn basic Nepali and explore the Kathmandu Valley. There are also several side trips available, such as rafting, trekking and an elephant safari. We do not require any previous knowledge or skills to join this program. Volunteers simply help in teaching English, homework, cleanliness, dressing up, and other helps on drawing, painting, singing and dancing would be appreciated.

  Teach English and other subjects to the Buddhist monks in the monasteries of Kathmandu. Teaching is always rewarding job but teaching young monks is not just rewarding you may learn Buddhist culture and rituals side by side. Also any help you can give to these Buddhist children will be incredibly appreciated and worthwhile as they cannot hire professionals to teach them English. You really will make a difference to their lives. Volunteering generally involves teaching English and other subjects. Volunteers should be motivated and committed to help. We do not require any previous knowledge or skills to join this program.

  We have health project in Nepal based in Kathmandu. Volunteers who want to experience medical facilities in Nepal can join health program but should have some previous experiences as a medical person. Here we are associated with few hospitals and clinics, Volunteers can learn and practice under doctors' guidance. As a volunteer, your work would be checking patient, measuring temperature, blood pressure checking or the activities depend on volunteers' interest and capacity. Volunteers should be motivated and committed to help and learn. We need medical background or skills related to join this program.

  5. Photo Journalism Internship in Nepal
     
Volunteering Activity provides an exciting opportunity to journalism students who are interested in exploring Nepal's great culture, beauty, people and media, working as a journalist. We provide the opportunity to work with Nepal's leading national newspapers and magazines.
     
  Media types:
     
  1.Publications: Daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly publications. The names of the newspapers and magazines are mentioned in this page.

2. TV Stations: Nepal Television, Kantipur Television, Channel Nepal, Image Channel.
    Position: Reporting, Editing, Photography. You can go into the field as an assignment reporter, to cover the stories or photo stories around the country. You can spend time working the news desk. Or you can serve as an assistant editor
     
Salary: Unpaid
     
You will not receive payment for your photos. The publication reserves the right to use your photos during the course of your program. You retain all rights to your photos following the completion of your program.
     
  Work Week: Sun-Friday
     
  Working Hours: You will work 5-7 hour days, depending on publication type and assignment. Hours may vary per assignment. (Intern can work as part time or full time as their interest.)

Equipment for photography inters: The publications do not have gear for interns at this time, nor does Internship Nepal. All of our professionals prefer to have personal equipment and we have found that our interns have different taste and experience with photo equipment. Many interns bring laptops in addition to their equipment, but you are not required to bring anything but your own preferred photo gear. By taking the necessary precautions of any trip, you can feel safe in bringing your equipment to Nepal.

Rights to photo: You retain all rights to your own photographs. Publications reserve the right to use your photos in your assigned publication; however the images will be otherwise used through your permission only.

Photo assignment:
You will be working with one of the photo journalists employed by the publication and as a photo journalism intern your assignments will be photo stories.

Volunteering Activity Programs start all the year round starting all 4 Mondays' of the month. Volunteering Activity' aim is to provide the most affordable volunteer program for college students and anyone on a budget. Our cost includes airport pick up, project drop, local transportation, food and accommodation with emergency service 24/7.

  A week Cultural Immersion, Language and Orientation Program: Optional - US$150
     
  Day 1: You will learn little bit about Nepal in general, religion, caste system, economic development, marriage, festivals, dress, family values, geographical features, safety issues, food, transportation, and host family and project information plus Nepali language introduction course.

Day 2: Nepali language for 3 hours; you can visit local market and send emails to your family and friends in leisure time

Day 3: Nepali Language Continues.

Day 4: Kathmandu Sightseeing, Soyambhu Monkey Temple, Pashupaninath Monkey Temple and Boudha Stupa.

Day 5: Nepali Language Continues.

Day 6:
Nepali language Ending and packing.

Day 7: Project departure; meeting with the host family or hostel staffs and introduction with the kids or project staffers.
     
  Trekking in Nepal (Optional program)
     
  (I) 6 nights / 7 days Annapurna Trekking - US$300 Per Pax.
     
Day 01: Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m/2986ft)
  You will be served breakfast. Our Trekking guide will pick you up at 6:30 AM. Our bus leaves at 7 AM for Pokhara.
   
Day 02: Drive to Naya Pul (New bridge), and trek to Tikhe Dhunga(1495m/4905ft)
  Breakfast will be served in the morning. After that, you'll drive to Naya Pul. You'll then commence your trek to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town beside the Modi River. You'll head up the main trail to Sudami where you'll gradually climb up the side of the valley, reaching Hile (1495m) before pushing on to Tirkhe Dhunga. From here the trail crosses a stream and then ascends a steep stone staircase to the large Magar village at Ulleri (2070m).
   
Day 03: Trek to Ghorepani (2850m/9350ft)
  After getting up early, you'll trek through rhododendron and oak forests and across streams before taking a short final climb to Nangethanti. From Nangethanti, you'll head up to Ghorepani (2850m). Overnight stay at Sunny lodge or Poon Hill Guest House.
   
Day 04: Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani (2520m/8268ft)
  Start early and hike for an hour to Poon Hill (3195m). From Poon Hill, you'll see unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas. After spending about 40 minutes on the hillside, we come back to Ghorepani and have hot breakfast. After that, we'll start walking to Tadapani. From Ghorepani, the trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali (2960m). We descend to reach Banthanti, before winding our way to Tadapani (2540m). Over night stay at Hotel Panorama or Hotel Grand view.
   
Day 05: Tadapani to Ghaundrung (1950m/6398ft)
  You'll descent brings us to the village of Ghaundrung in around noon. You'll stay overnight here so you'll have the afternoon to visit the Annapurna Conservation office and its museum. As well as take time to explore the village.
   
Day 06: Ghaundrung to Pokhara via Pothana(1910m/6266ft) and Phedi (910m/2986ft)
  Your last two days of trekking take us through the village of Pothana (2110m). On arrival in Phedi (950), mid morning, your bus will meet you before driving to Pokhara where your trekking program ends.
   
Day 07: Pokhara to Kathmandu.
  Breakfast will be served in the morning after that you'll be driven to the airport. The plane takes 25 minutes to get you to Kathmandu. The tour will end on arrival in Kathmandu.
   
  (II) 10 Nights / 11 Days Trekking Annapurna Base Camp: US$ $500 per pax.
     
Day 01: Kathmandu to Pokhara:
  You’ll drive to Pokhara by tourist bus enjoying an afternoon sightseeing on way to Pokhara. From Kathmandu to Pokhara, it is about 206 KM and takes around 6 hours.
   
Day 02: Pokhara to Ulleri at 1685M:
  From Pokhara to Ulleri it’s about 45 KM drive which passes through villages like Naudanda, Kanre, and Lumle. After reaching Nayapool, the trail descends steeply to Birethanthi and follows the East banks of Bhurungdi Khola, and Tikhedunga. You’ll then reach Ulleri.
   
Day 03: Ulleri to Ghorepani at 1855M:
  The trail ascends through small villages and pass rhododendron forest. After arriving at the top of Ghorepani you’ll halt overnight.
   
Day 04: Ghorepani to Tadapani at 2680M:
  Get up early to trek to Poonhill. From there, you’ll witness spectacular sunrise. From Poon Hill, you can view over 30 white–capped Peaks and the whole Annapurna range. After that tantalizing experience, we walk through the forest filled with flowers (in the spring) and later stay overnight at Tadapani.
   
Day 05: Tadapani via Chhomrong to Sinuwa:
  Tadapani offers good view of upper Modi Valley. The route starts the long ascents above the West Bank of Modi Khola from Sinuwa. From here, you can see the Mt. Machhapuchere.
   
Day 06: Sinuwa to Deurali Hotel at 3000M:
  The trail continues to Khuldi Ghar for about two hours and from there goes down steeply to the bottom of the gorge. Take caution will crossing the river to go to the West side of the river. You’ll pass the pasture of Tomoe and then the very neck of the George at Panchen Barah, where there is a small trail and a shrine. Overnight stay in Deurali.
   
Day 07: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at 4130M:
 

From Deurali, the trail continues into the sanctuary. You’ll cross two wide avalanche tracks on narrow trail that huddles up against the cliff (rock face). The trail then descends to meet the Modi Khola and follow the river to Bagar. From Bagar, you will get a chance to cross more avalanche paths across a moraine and a stream. You’ll then climb towards an area known as Machhapuchhere Base Camp (MBC) at the elevation 3700m.

After 2 hours journey, we finally arrive at our destination Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) and Overnight stay is arranged here.
   
Day 08: Back from ABC to Sinuwa :
 

We see morning sun rise and take our breakfast at 7. 00 AM and move towards Himalayas for lunch and finally come back to Sinuwa with the same trail and stay overnight there.

   
Day 09: Sinuwa to Kyumi:
 

We follow same trail up to Chhomrong and the trail goes to descend Jhinu. We see hot spring and take lunch there. After lunch, we start our journey, pass with beautiful rift valley and finally reach to Kyumi and stay overnight there.

   
Day 10: Kyumi to Nayapool via Pokhara:
 

The trail goes up and down through Ghandruk. Ghandruk is one of the developed village and most of the inhabitants are Gurung. Gurung is another ethnic group closely resembling the Magars in many aspects. Gurungs are of Tibeto-Burman race and have their own distinct language. Most of them practice shamanism. Many find employment in the British and Indian army. After Gandruk, you’ll continue your journey to arrive at Nayapool and take lunch there. You’ll rest there for an hour and from there you will be driven back to Pokhara and stay overnight there.

   
Day 11: Pokhara to Kathmandu by Bus
 

We follow same trail up to Chhomrong and the trail goes to descend Jhinu. We see hot spring and take lunch there. After lunch, we start our journey, pass with beautiful rift valley and finally reach to Kyumi and stay overnight there.

   
  (III) 13 Nights / 14 days Everest Trekking.
     
Day 01:

Kathmandu to Phakding (2610 M /8563ft). An early start takes us to Tribhuwan International Airport for the 30-minute flight to Lukla (2804 M). On arrival at the Airport our guide will introduce you to our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding (2610 M).


Trekking duration: 3 hours
   
Day 02:

Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11286ft). We continue our trek heading towards Namche Bazaar, which is at an altitude of 3535 M.

Trekking duration: 5 and ½ hours
   
Day 03:

Namche Bazaar (3440M/11286ft). Known as the gateway of Everest. We spend a day here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thin air. In the town, visit the museum celebrating the traditional customs of the Sherpa people. More importantly, from here you will get the first proper glimpse of Mt. Everest and the surrounding mountain. A day allows enough time to observe and reflect the journey ahead

Trekking duration: 5 hours
   
Day 04:

From Namche Bazaar to Tengboche(3860M/12664ft), we trek to an altitude of 3850M and arrive at Tengboche. Your guide will tell you about the local monastery and important places. After that, we will visit the monastery to observe the prayer ceremony either in the evening or morning depending on the trekking schedule.

Trekking duration: 5 and ½ hours
   
Day 05:

After viewing the spectacular landscape and mountains move on from Tengboche to Dingboche (4410M/14468ft). Our trek continues to climb as we head to the altitude of 4310M. You’ll take rest and walk slowly, adjusting the thin air.

Trekking duration: 5 and ½ hours
   
Day 06:

Dingboche(4410M/14468ft), our second acclimatization day includes a visit to the nearby Chhukung Valley, where the group will be taken to Chhukung Ri (5546M). This point offers fantastic views of the fifth highest mountain, Makalu. After appreciating the surrounding scenery, trek back to our camp in Dingboche for evening of relaxation.

Trekking duration: 5 hours
   
Day 07:

From Dingboche to Lobuje (4910M/16108ft). The trek experiences exotic views. Today our trek climbs to 4910M.

Trekking duration: 5 and ½ hours
   
Day 08:

Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5153m/16906ft) is yet another joyful experience which inspires nature at its best.

Trekking duration: 4 hours
   
Day 09:

Everest Base Camp (5363M/17595ft) and back to Gorak Shep. Reach for the Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5363M. After appreciating our efforts and photographing the panoramic scenery, return to Gorak Shep.

Trekking duration: 5 hours
   
Day 10:

Hiking up Kalapathar(5545M/18192ft) and overnight at Pherbuche(4210m/13812ft). After reaching Base Camp, today our aim is to trek Kalapathar (5545m). We start early in the morning to reach the viewpoint that offers some of the best views of Mt. Everest as well as other panoramas of the surrounding mountains. We then descend to Pherbuche.

Trekking duration: 6 hours
   
Day 11:

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440M/11286ft). We continue our descent to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is one of the civilized village where on can witness the culture and tradition of mountains. Moreover, it’s a commercial place.

Trekking duration: 6 hours
   
Day 12:

Namche Bazaar to Phakding (2610M/8563ft) after reaching Nache Bazaar, we rest and then again start our journey to Phakdin. The route contains many panoramic mountain views and orchestrates the mountain civilization in a picturesque state.

Trekking duration: 4 hours
   
Day 13:

Phakding to Lukla(2840m/9317ft). Our final day of trekking returns us to the town of Lukla, where the overnight stay gives you time to explore the town as well as to gaze upon the mountains you have recently visited for one last time before heading back to Kathmandu.

Trekking duration: 3 hours
   
Day 14:

Lukla to Kathmandu. Breakfast. We will walk about 5 minutes to airport to catch our return flight to Kathmandu. The plane leaves at 7:30 am and takes 35 minutes.
