  1. Working with the orphanage homes

According to our statistical survey, there are about 100, 000 orphans and wandering children across Nepal. Many children escape to find a better life. More than 5000 escaped children are living in the capital city alone. Some of the reasons behind this may be political, social, economic or due to natural disasters. In this program volunteers will be placed in an orphanage. Some placements allow the volunteer to live within the orphanage; however volunteers can also choose to be placed with our local host family located within walking distance from the orphanage. We have 20 orphanage homes in Kathmandu and around Nepal.

As a volunteer in Monk Teaching Project, you will primarily work as an English instructor. You will teach English to young monks around 4 hours a day. In addition to English teaching, volunteers will teach games and sports, drawing, singing, dancing, and other creative education and extracurricular activities. This project allows you to understand the behaviors of monks and at the same time can learn about Buddhism. If you like to know about Buddhism, this is the perfect place because meditation, rituals, prayers, and songs go here time to time. This project gives perfect opportunities to immerse in Buddhist religion and lifestyle.
